AkzoNobel schrijft wedstrijd uit voor ‘slimme fabricage-ideeën’
Zo kan het natuurlijk ook. Als een multinational even zelf geen creatieve puf heeft om innovatieve ideeën te bedenken, dan vraag je toch aan startups om met geniale oplossingen te komen? Dat heeft iemand bij de Nederlandse chemie- en verfgigant AkzoNobel ook gedacht. Vandaar dat startende bedrijfjes met ingang van 10 januari 2018 zijn uitgenodigd om hun ideeën voor slimmere en milieuvriendelijke fabrieken in te zenden naar AkzoNobels ‘Imagine Chemistry Challenge platform. Alvast een tip: Internet of Things-oplossingen horen daar zeker in thuis.
Bij AkzoNobel weten zij precies wat zij wel en wat zij niet willen van de beoogde inzenders voor de Chemistry Challenge Platform. Of, zoals het concern zelf zegt:
What are we NOT looking for?
For this challenge area, we are not trying to find new chemical processes.
Criteria
- Relevance to sustainability
- Can be applied in, or complements, existing manufacturing processes
- More than just an idea: in pilot stage or an early stage with a clear proof of concept
- Fit to current AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals technologies and markets
- Impact of the idea in the short term (revenue, quality, scalability, time to market, etc.)
- Quality and maturity of the team
Aardige beloning
Het zijn niet geringe criteria, maar de beloning voor de beste ideeën is dan ook aardig genoeg om een bepaalde mate van kieskeurigheid te rechtvaardigen. Ook weer in de woorden van AkzoNobel zelf:
Joint Development Agreements
As top prize, one or more startups will be awarded joint development agreements with AkzoNobel’s Specialty Chemicals business to help bring their ideas to market.
Research Agreement
One or more startups will be offered a long-term agreement by AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals to provide expertise and support further development of their idea.

Several prizes provide dedicated support from our partners. Startup specialists Lux Research provides business development support, the innovation team of KPMG will help you further define your business case and route to market and ICOS Capital will support you in getting your startup investment-ready.

Up to 80 hours of support from AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals experts and access to our research equipment to solve key challenges and bring your ideas to the next level.
